This is where I ferret away shiny baubles I find on the internet. Why Politico needs a copy editor. Or a vexillologist.
Donovan Slack of Politico Wednesday reported:

It’s very clear what side President Obama is on here in Wisconsin.
Behind the stage where he will speak today are two flags: an American  one, as usual, and right alongside it — and a flag for the local union,  Wisconsin 1848.

She even included a picture with her report, which immediately calls into question the credibility of her lede, if not her entire story. Because that’s not the flag for Wisconsin union, local No. 1848. That’s the state flag of Wisconsin. Which became a state in 1848.
